Starfox Model - Fox McCloud

Introducing my long-awaited rendition of Fox McCloud, a beloved character who holds a special place in the hearts of many. It has been an incredible journey, and I'm thrilled to finally share my take with you all.

Inspired by the recent Mario Brothers movie characters created by Illumination Entertainment, I was motivated to bring Fox McCloud into the modern era while infusing my own artistic vision. Just as Illumination put their own spin on the Mario characters, I wanted to reimagine Fox McCloud, embracing his timeless charm while adding a fresh touch and pushing his cinematic potential.

Using Blender and ZBrush, I meticulously crafted the 3D model, paying careful attention to every detail. The process involved sculpting and refining Fox's features, ensuring that his character and essence were faithfully captured in the final result. The same level of care and attention was applied to the textures, meticulously done in Substance Painter.

A notable highlight of this project was the creation of Fox's realistic fur using the powerful Ornatrix plugin. The fur grooming process was intricate, aiming to enhance the established look of his fur from Smash Bros. The final result showcases the intricate detail, depth, colour, and tone of the fur, adding an extra layer of realism to the overall model.

For rendering, I utilised the industry-standard Arnold renderer in Maya. This choice allowed me to achieve exceptional quality and photorealistic lighting, showcasing Fox McCloud in all his glory. The careful attention to lighting and shading highlights the intricate details of the model, elevating it to a new level of visual appeal.
